Travelogue Lecturer
From early 1900's into 1930's
     My great uncle, my mother's uncle, and brother to my grandmother--Jessie Ostrander Armitage was Harry C. Ostrander. He traveled the world far and wide from the late 1890's into the 1930's. He made his living from giving travelogue lectures complete with glass lantern slides. The brochure shown here was part of his attempt to join the motion picture era. Unfortunately, motion pictures did not pan out well for him.
     My recollections include operating the glass lantern projector as he gave his "lectures" to family members at my grandparents house in the late 1940s. I think there must be a connection with Uncle Harry and my fascination with maps.
